Overview

Kamaitachi no Yoru: Rinne Saisei (かまいたちの夜 輪廻彩声) is a remake of Chunsoft's famous sound novel, Kamaitachi no Yoru, which was originally released for the Super Famicom in 1994. Estuarium, an affiliate of Akabei Soft, was responsible for Rinne Saisei's planning and Regista directly developed the title while Spike Chunsoft oversaw its development. 5pb published the game for the PlayStation Vita on February 16, 2017 and in 2018 a PC port was released which contained a new opening movie but was otherwise the same.

The remake features a completely redesigned presentation. Instead of the characters being represented as blue silhouettes, as is tradition for the series, the cast is instead rendered as illustrations. Alpha, an artist known for their work creating bishoujo games at Akabei Soft2, designed the characters and a new scenario was added which was written by When They Cry creator Ryukishi07. Additionally, full voice acting and a remixed soundtrack which also created for the remake.
